Abstract

An RFID-based equipment borrowing and returning system integrated with a website and enhanced with WhatsApp notifications was developed to optimize equipment management in laboratories. Notifications are dispatched on H-1 and the due date to ensure timely returns. Experimental results demonstrate that the system accurately matches KTM IDs and RFID tag sticker IDs with the data displayed on the LCD and website, achieving a 100% success rate. Furthermore, reading distance analysis indicates that the optimal detection range for KTM is between 1 cm and 2.5 cm, while for RFID tag stickers, it ranges from 1 cm to 2 cm, with 100% accuracy. These findings confirm the system’s reliability and effectiveness in monitoring the borrowing and returning processes of laboratory equipment.
