Abstract
The development of digital technology brings many benefits but also presents new challenges, one of which is the misuse of live streaming platforms for online gambling promotion. Platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are frequently used by perpetrators to covertly disseminate online gambling sites. This phenomenon poses significant social and legal problems due to the difficulty of supervision and the rapid spread of information in cyberspace. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of law enforcement in Indonesia in addressing online gambling promotion and compare it with the regulations implemented in Singapore and Australia. The research method used is normative juridical with a comparative law approach. Data were obtained through a literature study of legislation, legal literature, and relevant scientific articles. The results show that Indonesia has regulations related to gambling in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law) and the Criminal Code (KUHP), but there are no specific provisions regulating online gambling promotion on digital platforms. Meanwhile, Singapore and Australia have established specific and effective regulations for controlling and prosecuting online gambling promotion. From the analysis, it is concluded that regulatory updates in Indonesia are needed to specifically regulate online gambling promotion. Furthermore, it is crucial to strengthen international cooperation and enhance the capacity of law enforcement officers in handling technology-based crimes. These measures are expected to reduce the spread of online gambling promotion in Indonesia and create a safer digital environment.
