Abstract

This study aims to design and build a portable generator using a stepper motor as a power source. The developed generator is capable of producing sufficient power for small electronic devices by converting mechanical energy from the motor’s rotation into electrical energy. Based on testing, the generator is able to supply power to devices such as Stepdown USB DC, High Power LED, and Coil Heater with varying power and energy outputs, including 19.826 W and 19.826 Wh for 1 hour for Stepdown USB DC, 9.897 W and 9.897 Wh for 1 hour for High Power LED, and 0.0831 W and 0.0831 Wh for the Coil Heater. Additionally, the generator can simultaneously power multiple loads, such as Stepdown USB DC and High Power LED with 31.913 Wh for 1 hour 39 minutes, Stepdown USB DC and Coil Heater with 19.911 Wh for 2 hours 39 minutes, as well as all loads simultaneously with 32.064 Wh for 1 hour 39 minutes. The results show that this portable generator is reliable for powering small electronic devices and offers high portability.
