Abstract

Utilization of the latest technology and waste management are 2 (two) main aspects in sustainable development. One solution that combines these two aspects’ s to create and build an environmentally friendly incinerator to be applied to urban communities. This study aims to create, build, and test an environmentally friendly incinerator to be applied to urban communities that can be used by urban communities to manage by burning organic and partially inorganic waste that has been sourced or originated from everyday households very effectively and environmentally friendly. This study involves a series of stages including preliminary studies to understand community needs, making environmentally friendly incinerators to be applied to urban communities, making prototypes, and testing. The test results show that environmentally friendly incinerators to be applied to urban communities have very low exhaust emissions compared to conventional waste burning which has made It a very environmentally friendly solution for managing organic and partially inorganic waste that has been sourced or originated from everyday households. This research provides a very important contribution in efforts to overcome the problem of organic and partially inorganic waste that has been sourced or originated from everyday households in the surrounding environment for urban communities in general and especially in the environment around the Campus of the National Veteran Development University of Jakarta (NVDUoJ) Limo if It’ s indeed very possible in particular and can be a very positive example for other communities and so on in adopting similar and the same technologies. Thus, this research must have a very positive and significant impact in supporting environmental conservation efforts in urban communities. The burning of organic and partially inorganic waste that has been sourced or originated from everyday households by environmentally friendly incinerators to be applied to this urban community can reach a maximum limit of up to 50 kilo gram (kg)/Hour.
