Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) has a high incidence rate worldwide, with 18.8 billion cases and 4 million deaths annually. Incidence of ARI can cause a severe problem. There are several internal and external risk factors believed to affect the incidence of ARI, namely birth weight status, breastfeeding, and maternal knowledge. The focus of this study is to analyze the association between birth weight status, breastfeeding, and maternal knowledge with the incidence of ARI in toddlers in Bekasi City. This study was conducted at the Jatiluhur Community Health Center between August and December 2024, employing a descriptive correlational analysis and cross-sectional method. Purposive sampling was used to select 67 respondents. Data were collected through medical records and a questionnaire sheet. The Chi-Square analysis reveals a correlation between birth weight status (p=<0.001), breastfeeding (p=0.012), and parental information level (p=0.005) with the incidence of ARI in toddlers. Mothers need to increase their knowledge about ARI and its risk factors, and the government needs to provide health education programs to reduce the occurrence of ARI in infants.
