Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of ESP32 processors in single-core and dual-core modes at a fixed speed of 240 MHz, using RTOS as a task management platform. Results show that the dual-core configuration provides 32.26% faster execution time response than the single-core, reflecting high effectiveness in parallel task handling. However, this performance improvement is accompanied by a higher power consumption of 4.96% and a 0.22% increase in operating temperature. The compromise between improved performance and power requirements makes dual-core mode optimal for applications that prioritize time effectiveness. These findings open up further research opportunities in RTOS algorithm optimization and power management strategies to minimize the energy impact of dual-core mode.
