Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of provincial minimum wage (UMP), labor force participation rate (TPAK), and investment on economic growth in Central Java Province. As the province with the lowest economic growth in Java, Central Java faces challenges in increasing its GRDP, despite having great potential in terms of labor and investment. This study highlights the interaction between these factors and their influence on economic performance over a decade. The data used covers the period 2013-2023, obtained from credible sources such as BPS, BAPPEDA, and the Central Java Data Portal. The data analysis was conducted using the panel data regression method, specifically using the Common Effect Model approach, and processed with Stata 17 software. The study also included a classical assumption test to ensure the validity and reliability of the data, followed by a hypothesis test to determine the statistical significance of the model. The results show that UMP has a significant negative effect on economic growth, indicating that a higher minimum wage may reduce economic growth in the Central Java region. Meanwhile, TPAK shows a significant positive effect, indicating that higher labor force participation contributes positively to economic growth in Central Java. Meanwhile, investment shows no effect on economic growth, indicating that higher labor force participation contributes positively to economic growth in Central Java.
