Abstract
Sign language gesture recognition plays an important role in facilitating communication between the deaf and the general public. In this study, sign language gesture identification will be carried out using the YOLO (You Only Look Once) method. The YOLO method is known for its ability to detect objects accurately and efficiently in one processing stage, which is very suitable for complex hand gesture recognition in a fast time. The experimental process involves collecting diverse sign language gesture datasets, training the YOLO model with these datasets. Sign language gesture recognition opens up new opportunities for better communication between the deaf and the general public. Furthermore, the application of the YOLO method can be applied to various other applications that require object detection and identification services in images.
