Abstract
Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) are nosocomial infections that frequently occur in patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This study was conducted to identify factors associated with the risk of CLABSI in ICU patients. The research method employed was a quantitative observational study with descriptive statistical design. Data were collected from secondary data which patient medical record (paper based). The sample in this study was obtained using accidental sampling techniques, involving a total of 43 respondents. The results showed that after categorizing the risk of CLABSI, it was found that the majority of respondents in this study were not at risk for CLABSI at 53.5%, while 46.5% of respondents were at high risk for CLABSI. The conclusion of this study is that it is important to have CVC care training according to SOP, which is carried out while maintaining sterile concepts. To establish a diagnosis of CLABSI in patients, blood cultures should be taken with samples taken directly from the central venous catheter (CVC) site to avoid the possibility of infection at other sites. For future researchers, it is expected that they can conduct research to maximize the factors in the CLABSI risk assessment instrument with standardized indicators.
