Abstract

This study examines the legal consequences for financial service business actors who unilaterally include emergency contacts in the service process and financing agreements. The study was conducted using a normative legal method through a statute approach and a case study approach . (case approach) . Data sources were obtained from literature studies by analyzing laws and regulations, legal literature, and related documents. The results of the study indicate that unilateral inclusion of emergency contacts by financial service business actors can result in violations of consumer privacy rights, potentially violate business ethics, and can result in administrative sanctions in accordance with consumer protection regulations and financial services regulations. Furthermore, this study identified that unilateral inclusion of emergency contacts can create consumer distrust of financial service business actors and hinder business development based on the principles of fairness and transparency. Thus, stricter supervision is needed by the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations by financial service business actors. This study concludes that the act of unilateral inclusion of emergency contacts is an unethical practice and can harm consumers and damage the reputation of financial service business actors.
