Abstract

Various violations of the law such as sexual acts that befall children and are experienced by children show an increasing trend every year. This shows the urgency of definite law enforcement against sexual crimes against children followed by the recovery of children as victims of sexual acts committed by adults against children. Sexual acts against children have become a topic of conversation in society. This results in deep trauma for children who are experiencing a period of growth and development threatened by people who commit sexual crimes against children. If you look at the establishment of chemical castration policies, there are actually many debates between those who agree and disagree with the chemical castration regulations in Indonesia. Although it raises many problems, it is worth giving appreciation to the government considering that so many sexual acts through violence against children have occurred, by making policies on child protection for a more progressive national legal system. The discussion of chemical castration is not explained in detail in the new Criminal Code. Therefore, the problem of chemical castration is still a problem because there is no harmonization between the law that accommodates castration crimes and the Criminal Code itself. Thus, with the controversy of the chemical castration policy, there are many pros and cons that cause problems with the chemical castration policy in Indonesia.
