Abstract

The digitalization of Indonesia's halal food industry through blockchain technology offers significant potential for enhancing the distribution process within the supply chain. Regrettably, the use of blockchain is not specifically regulated by current Indonesian laws, leaving industry participants and other stakeholders in a legal gray area. This study aims to identify the legal gaps in the adoption of blockchain technology in the halal sector and analyze its legal implications for business processes in Indonesia. The research method is normative juridical, with data collected through literature studies. The approach combines a legislative approach of relevant regulations with a comparative and conceptual approach. The findings demonstrate that blockchain technology holds significant potential to improve the efficiency and transparency of the halal supply chain. However, one major barrier to its adoption is the absence of laws governing its standardization and supervision. To strengthen Indonesia's halal ecosystem through blockchain technology, the government must persist in collaborating with business actors and establish clearer, more specific regulations in the future.
