Abstract
D.I Yogyakarta Province has the highest level of income inequality compared to other provinces in Indonesia. High income inequality can lead to uneven economic and social development. This study aims to analyze the effect of Poverty Rate, Human Development Index, and Open Unemployment Rate on Income Inequality in Yogyakarta Province. In this study, the sample was taken using saturated sampling technique from 5 regencies/cities for 10 years, from 2014 to 2023. The number of samples used was 50 data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This study uses panel data regression analysis using Stata 17 with the best model using the Random Effect Model (REM). The results show that partially, the poverty rate has a negative and significant effect on income inequality in D.I Yogyakarta Province, the human development index has no significant effect on income inequality in D.I Yogyakarta Province, and the open unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on income inequality in D.I Yogyakarta Province.
