Abstract
Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) are one of the herbal products that are widely used in health. Herbal products in the form of thick extracts have weaknesses in long-term storage, very easy to absorb moisture and result in microbial growth. The development of traditional medicine, dry extract of Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) is a solution to minimise microbial growth. This study was conducted to determine the difference in drying excipients on the intermediate stability test time of moringa leaf dry extract (Moringa oleifera L.). This research is experimental research. Preparation of dry extracts of various drying excipients (aerosil, talcum, lactose) in a ratio of 1: 1 and conducted intermediate stability tests physically (organoleptic, moisture content, solubility) and microbiologically (Total Plate Numbers and Yeast Mould Numbers). In this study, the Moisture Content results for months 0, 2, 3 were <10% (talcum, aerosil) and >10% (aerosil). Solubility results for months 0, 2, 3 were very insoluble (talc, lactose) and insoluble (lactose). The results of Total Plate Numbers <105 in months 0, 2, 3. The results of Yeast Mould Numbers <103 in months 0, 2, 3. This study showed that the drying excipients (aerosil, talcum, lactose) had no difference in the dried extract of moringa leaves on the intermediate stability test with Sig values. >0,05..
