Abstract

Indonesia and Brazil are countries that share the same geographical location on the equator. This similarity makes Indonesia and Brazil have similar geographical characteristics, such as a tropical climate, and an abundance of resources. In fact, this abundance of resources does not make the export value of Indonesia and Brazil in the top 10 countries with the highest export value. This shows that there are challenges in boosting the value of exports in Indonesia and Brazil. This makes the purpose of this study focused on the effect of exchange rates, GDP, inflation, and FDI on the value of exports. This study focuses on Indonesia and Brazil in the time span from 2005-2023. This research uses secondary data from the official institutions of the World Bank and Trading Economic. The method used is panel data regression analysis with the best model being the Fixed Effect Model. The research conducted found that the exchange rate has a significant negative effect on the value of exports. Meanwhile, GDP and inflation both have a significant positive effect on the value of exports, while FDI has no significant effect on the value of exports.
