Abstract
The demand for money is one of the fundamental concepts in economics that reflects the community's need for money to fulfill transactions, precautions, and speculation. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the demand for money in Indonesia in the period 2018 - 2023. The data used are monthly time series data for six years with a total sample of 72 observations, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and Bank Indonesia. Data analysis was carried out using Stata 17 software with multiple linear regression methods. The results of the study show that partially, inflation has no effect on the demand for money in Indonesia. Interest rates have a significant negative effect, while the use of electronic money has a significant positive effect. Also, the poverty rate has no effect on the demand for money. Simultaneously, all independent variables tested (inflation, interest rates, electronic money, and poverty rate) were shown to influence the demand for money in Indonesia during the study period.
