Abstract
Imports play a very important role in a country's economy. Imports allow a country to meet the needs of goods and services that are not available domestically. In addition, the importance of imports can also increase consumer choice and advance economic development so that it is important for a country to manage imports so as not to disrupt economic stability. This study uses a quantitative approach that aims to analyze the effect of the Producer Price Index (PPI), inflation, and exchange rates on imports in 3 ASEAN countries from 2013-2023. The samples used are Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia with a total of 33 observation data. The data used comes from the World Bank, Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and Trading Economics. The research method used is panel data regression analysis. The results of the study obtained that partially, PPI has a significant negative effect on imports, inflation has a significant negative effect on imports, and the exchange rate has a significant positive effect on imports. Simultaneously, PPI, inflation, and exchange rates together affect imports.
