Abstract
Labour is one of the main components in supporting a country's economic growth. This study aims to analyse the influence of macroeconomic indicators, namely Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, inflation, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), on the presence of foreign workers in several ASEAN countries. This study uses a sample of three ASEAN countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The data used in this study are secondary data from World Bank publications, ILO, and other official sources, covering the period 2013-2023. Data analysis was conducted using panel regression method using the Common Effect Model (CEM) approach in STATA 17 software accompanied by classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing. The results of this study partially show that GDP per capita has a significant effect with a positive relationship direction, while inflation and FDI show a significant effect with a negative relationship direction. Simultaneously, GDP per capita, inflation, and FDI have an influence on foreign labour.
