Abstract
Consumer protection in the context of ticket concierge services for concerts has emerged as a significant issue amidst the proliferation of concert events in Indonesia. This study aims to compare consumer protection regulations in Indonesia and Singapore to identify weaknesses and strengths in each jurisdiction's legal practices. A case study and comparative approach are employed to evaluate the implementation of Indonesia’s Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection and Singapore’s Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003. The findings indicate that Singapore has a more effective system for addressing breaches of contract, particularly in informal service transactions such as concert ticket concierge services. Recommendations are provided to enhance Indonesia’s complaint and oversight systems, drawing on Singapore’s experience.
