Abstract
Purpose Indonesia is highly vulnerable to fire disasters. Individual preparedness to dealing with fires is needed to reduce unwanted events. Individuals who have a high level of knowledge and self-efficacy are expected to have a good level of disaster preparedness. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge and self-efficacy and fire disaster preparedness at PT Asuransi Jiwa Generali Indonesia in 2024. Methodology This study used the chi-square method with 76 people using univariate and bivariate tests. Result There were 61 respondents (80.3%) who had a high level of knowledge, 73 respondents (96.1%) who had a high level of self-efficacy, and 73 respondents (96.1%) who had a level of preparedness for fire disasters. There was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and fire disaster preparedness, with a p-value of 0.003. However, there was no relationship between knowledge and fire disaster preparedness, with a p-value of 0.045. Conclusion Workers with a high level of self-efficacy can improve fire disaster preparedness.
