Abstract

Maintenance of marine ornamental fish aquariums requires special attention, particularly in feeding and regular water replacement. Manual processes that are time-consuming often pose challenges for aquarium owners, especially those with busy routines. To address this issue, this study aims to design and develop an automatic feeding and water replacement device based on the ESP32 microcontroller integrated with the Blynk application. The research employs a development method encompassing hardware and software design, testing, and data collection related to sensor performance and system accuracy. The main components used include a turbidity sensor, DS18B20 temperature sensor, load cell sensor, 5V water pump, ESP32 microcontroller, 1-channel relay, 5V power supply, servo motor, and 16x2 LCD. Testing results indicate that the system can dispense feed automatically and on a scheduled basis via the Blynk application, with an average feed weight reduction of 0.483 grams and an error rate in feed weight reduction ranging from 0.1% to 2.4%. The water replacement system operates automatically when the water turbidity level exceeds 25 NTU or the water temperature exceeds 30°C, with the overall water drainage reading error range between 0% and 1.4% and the overall water refilling reading error range between 0% and 5.7%.
