Abstract
People with speech impairment are a group of people who have significant limitations in communicating verbally. Therefore, a technological innovation is needed that can help people with speech impairment in participating in daily life. One of them is access to the Drive Thru ordering system, where customers order food or drinks from inside their vehicle without having to go to a fastfood restaurant. This research aims to design and build a Drive Thru Hand Gesture system that allows deaf people to use Drive Thru services based on ESP32 microcontroller through ESP-NOW protocol and PAJ7620U2 Sensor. Based on the results of this research, accuracy and precision are influenced by the distance between the hand gesture and the PAJ7620U2 sensor. The optimal distance of the sensor ranges from 10 - 16 cm with accuracy of 59.1% - 95.8% and precision of 59.4% - 96.6%. Thus the design of the Drive Thru System with PAJ7620U2 gesture sensor can be used for people with speech impairment in ordering food with a range of hand distance with sensors in the range of 10 - 16 cm.
