Abstract

The development of information technology has changed the paradigm of academic process implementation in higher education to improve the quality of service and education management. However, the Faculty of Computer Science UPN Veteran Jakarta has not fully implemented technology to support academic processes. For example, the process of scheduling proposal seminars and thesis trials still uses simple tools, namely Google Forms and Google Sheets. The limitations of these tools often result in a number of problems related to scheduling, such as insufficient efficiency, accumulation of tasks, schedule uncertainty that makes it difficult to coordinate between final project supervisors and examiners and has the potential to cause scheduling errors that disrupt the course of the academic process. The author proposes the design of a website-based information system that utilises the Laravel framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL database. The methodology used is waterfall and problem analysis using the PIECES framework. With this system, it is expected to increase efficiency and transparency in the process of scheduling proposal seminars and thesis trials.
