Abstract

This research aims to explain the implementation of law enforcement between Indonesia and Russia in dealing with drug cases through the international organization Interpol and to find out developments in reducing the number of drug trafficking crimes in Indonesia in 2019 - 2022. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type with a focus on the concept of drug trafficking and security cooperation in writing this research. The data collection method used in discussing this research is by conducting interviews and literature studies from the research location so that findings are obtained in the form of in 2020 to 2022 the world was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the pandemic causing large-scale social restrictions such as lockdowns, new normal or other forms of restrictions that have an impact on the mobility of residents who visit other countries or official state activities, one of which is transnational law enforcement activities. With the restrictions during the Covid-19 period, Interpol activities in the period 2020 to 2022 experienced many delays in implementation due to restrictions which are the policies of the governments of each country affected by the pandemic, even so, Indonesia and Russia in 2019 have collaborated in a mutual legal assistance agreement and have handled the subject of Interpol notices Russia in 2021 as well as making efforts in multilateral cooperation by participating in Interpol operations and trying to carry out extradition.
