Abstract
Over the time, the population growth in Indonesia has increased, which has caused many people to be adversely affected, one the impact is the lack of employment. From this impact, one of the things that Indonesian’s citizen do to get a job is migrate internationally abroad. Singapore is a country that is quite popular among Indonesians for international migration, every year Indonesia sends more than 1000 migrant workers to that country. This research aims to find out what factors influence Indonesia citizens to migrate internationally, especially to Singapore. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach and the methods used are interviews and literature studies. Primary data sources obtained were interviews with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and interviewing two Indonesians who migrated internationally in Singapore. This study found that the main factor of Singapore being chosen by Indonesian migrant workers is economic factors. Other things that drive Indonesians to migrate internationally to Singapore are higher average salaries, more job opportunities for international migrants, and better living standards. Singapore is also chosen by many Indonesian international migrants because it is quite close to Indonesia. Most of all Indonesian migrants take domestic workers and professionals as their job in Singapore.
