Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine legal certainty for song royalty rights holders regarding the protection of their works against commercial use on Tiktok. This study uses normative legal research methods with a statutory approach. The results of the study show that legal certainty for royalty rights holders to protect their works against commercial use is regulated in Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright, but until now the number of violations is still high and causes losses for song royalty rights holders. Based on research, what needs to be done to protect song royalty rights holders is updates to copyright regulations specifically in social media.
