Abstract

The construction industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly as time changes. This makes various potential hazards that can be found and can increase the number of work accidents. A construction project in Jakarta recorded 19 out of 25 cases of minor work accidents caused by unsafe acts. The study aims to analyze the factors associated with unsafe acts in construction project workers in Jakarta City in 2024. This research is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. The study population was all field workers of a construction project with a sample of 120 workers through simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used a previous research questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that there were 25.8% of workers who took unsafe actions. There is a relationship between personal factors including knowledge (p-value=0.009; CI=3.276) and attitude (pvalue=0.019; CI=2.942) and work factors in the form of OHS training (pvalue=0.022; CI=2.889) and supervision (p-value=0.030; CI 2.723) with unsafe acts. It is recommended that companies optimize intensive supervision, socialization and training to increase workers' knowledge and awareness of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS).
