Abstract
The prolonged conflict in Afghanistan has caused a series of problems for gender equality. This causes women to be more vulnerable to experiencing insecurity than men. Feminism makes an essential contribution to the discipline of international relations by evaluating gender bias in traditional theory and practice. The gap between women and men caught up in conflict has painted a portrait of gender inequality, where women's rights are not distributed well. Limited access and conflict barriers have ensnared women in the complexity of structural gender inequality. In efforts to fight for women's rights in Afghanistan, friendly countries are important actors in the distribution of foreign aid and the creation of foreign policy. Indonesia as a state actor that operates with gender values has a significant role in advancing women's rights in Afghanistan. Indonesia encourages the empowerment of women to be able to participate in all aspects of economic, social, cultural and political life. Thus, this research aims to understand Indonesia's efforts to fight for gender equality for women in Afghanistan using the lens of gender mainstreaming and institutional feminism. The method used is descriptive qualitative with secondary data sources. The results of this research analysis will explain the alignment of the Indonesian perspective with the ideas of gender mainstreaming and institutional feminism regarding gender inequality in efforts to fight for women's rights.
