Abstract
This research evaluates the role of the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police in dealing with transnational cybercrime, particularly love scams by foreign nationals from China in Batam. The advancement of digital technology has made it easier for criminals to operate across borders, giving rise to love scam cases that cost victims up to 22 billion rupiah. This research uses juridical-normative method to analyze legal norms and relevant procedures in handling the case. The results of the analysis show that the International Relations Division of the National Police has broad authority in international coordination and the use of technology for tracking the perpetrators. However, law enforcement in love scam cases has not been optimal due to jurisdictional constraints that reduce the effectiveness of law enforcement in Indonesia. To increase effectiveness, it is recommended that law enforcement be carried out consistently regardless of the nationality of the perpetrator, strengthen international cooperation, and implement strict supervision at every stage of law enforcement. Strengthening the role of Divhubinter Polri in international coordination and supervision of the law enforcement process is expected to improve the integrity and credibility of the Indonesian justice system.
