Abstract
Leptospirosis is a health problem with high CFR. The CFR of leptospirosis in Indonesia in 2022 is 9.8% and Kebumen Regency is one of the endemic areas since 2012. The aim of this study was to determine the determinants and mapping of leptospirosis incidence in Kebumen in 2023. This research used a case-control study design with a 1:1 sample (53 cases and 53 controls). Sampling for each group used a purposive sampling technique. The definition of cases are individuals who seek treatment at puskesmas or hospital and are diagnosed as leptospirosis patients in 2023, and controls are the closest neighbors. Analysis using logistic regression model showed that determinants associated with the incidence of leptospirosis were wound history (OR=40.20; 95% CI: 5.05-320.03), sex (OR=2.58; 95% CI: 0.85-7.82) and PPE use (OR=2.27; 95% CI: 0.76-6.78). The presence of rats and standing water which could increase the risk of leptospirosis tend to be geographically located at adjacent points. The presence of pets at risk is most likely to be in areas that tend to be high. It is recommended that relevant health authorities can provide socialization of leptospirosis prevention to the community in areas mapped as having a high risk of leptospirosis.
