Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that is one of the deadliest diseases in the world and mostly infects the lungs (pulmonary TB). Tuberculosis requires a relatively long treatment period. The duration of treatment causes the kidney to continuously work to eliminate the drug metabolites, which eventually leads to kidney function impairment. Kidney function impairment is characterized by a decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which allows for an increase in blood urea and creatinine levels as well as a decrease in creatinine clearance and estimated GFR levels. The aim of this study is to see the characteristics of pulmonary TB patients after undergoing OAT FDC and non-FDC therapy impacting kidney function at RSUP Persahabatan in 2023, including age, gender, education, occupation, urea level, creatinine level, creatinine clearance, and estimated GFR levels. The method used in this study is descriptive with a retrospective approach. There were 107 medical record data of new pulmonary tuberculosis patients that met the study criteria. The results of this study showed that the characterictics of pulmonary tuberculosis patients at RSUP Persahabatan in 2023 mostly ranged from 45-59 years old, male, with high school education, unemployed, had normal urea, creatinine, and estimated GFR levels, and had decreased in creatinine clearance levels.
