Abstract
Adolescence is a critical phase in the process of life development, including reproductive development in adolescent girls. One important aspect of reproductive health in adolescent girls is the menstrual cycle. Adolescent girls are prone to menstrual cycle disorders. This study aims to determine the relationship between fast food consumption, sleep quality, and stress levels with the menstrual cycle in female students of the Nutrition Study Program at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. This research is a cross-sectional design with stratified random sampling (n=193). Data were collected using the SQ-FFQ form, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire, and the Perceived Stress Scale-10 questionnaire. The results of bivariate tests with chi-square showed that there was no relationship between fast food consumption frequency and menstrual cycle (p=0.780). Meanwhile, fat intake (p=0.027; OR=2.6), sleep quality (p=0.009; OR=10.8), and stress levels (p=0.000; OR=7.19) showed a relationship with the menstrual cycle. This study concludes that there is a relationship between fat intake, sleep quality, and stress levels with the menstrual cycle in female students of the Nutrition Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta. Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship between fast food consumption frequency and the menstrual cycle in female students of the nutrition study program.
