Abstract

Climate change has caused disruptions to the climate, causing unpredictable floods that could contaminate underground water sources. North Jakarta is a part of Jakarta that has multiple rivers running through it, and parts of the north like Cilincing District are under sea level. Because of that, floodwater can contaminate groundwater sources. The purpose of this study is to oversee the general condition in Cilincing District. The study is cross-sectional since it looks at water quality at a specific moment in time using Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA)'s dose-response model to predict the probability of being sick from various wells. Wells were recommended by the local health authority. Samples were taken from seven wells, all in use for human consumption as well as daily activities. All samples were found to be contaminated with E. coli, exceeding the limit set by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. Usage of groundwater is linked to increased risk of gastrointestinal illnesses, and the risk of illness is relatively high, accounting for both accidental and purposive consumption of groundwater. Cilincing District must be given additional resources to ensure a stable and steady supply of clean water for consumption.
