Abstract

Eco-enzyme is a multipurpose liquid, made by fermenting organic material in molasses solution and have some potential compound for antimicrobial. Pineapple core and lemon skin have antimicrobial activity, thus were used in this research. Oral microbes, especially Streptococcus mutans and Candida albicans are often causing antimicrobial resistance with their defense mechanism, namely biofilm. This study designed to find antibiofilm properties of eco-enzyme with organic matter variance. The series of tests carried out including by MIC, MBC/MFC, and antibiofilm assay. Eco-enzyme with pineapple core have the best antimicrobial activity with MIC value of 25% and MBC value of 50% against Streptococcus mutans, while the best antibiofilm activity obtained by eco-enzyme with organic matter combination with value of 68526,23 ppm against Streptococcus mutans and 2235,30 ppm against Candida albicans. The IC50 value of all three eco-enzyme sample was tested with one-way ANOVA statistical test and concluded that ecoenzymes have inhibitory activity of biofilm against Streptococcus mutans (p=0,023) and Candida albicans (p=0,002)
