Abstract
Ship accident is an event caused by external and/or internal factors of the ship, which can threaten and/or endanger ship safety, human life, property loss, and damage to the maritime environment. Ship sinking can occur due to poor stability. Stability itself is the ability of the ship to return to its original position after tilting due to external forces such as ocean waves. Then one of the internal factors that can affect the reduction of ship stability includes structural damage, leaks, or damage to the hull. This can cause water ingress into the ship, resulting in a loss of turning moment, and eventually making the ship sink. In the case of the KM Cantika Persada, the vessel suffered damage to the hull structure that led to leaks. This incident occurred when the Cantika Persada departed from the TUKS jetty of PT Petrokimia Gresik to the anchorage zone of Gresik Port. This analysis focuses on simulating the ship's leakage stability by modeling and creating 3 leakage variations with different permeabilities. This analysis uses the basis of IMO adopted rules, namely MSC 267 (85). The results of the analysis show why Cantika Persada can sink, then how the ship's stability conditions at the time after the collision until it sinks.
