Abstract

Internet demand in Indonesia is increasing every year along with population growth, and PT XL Axiata plays an important role in providing quality internet access through Fiber to the Home (FTTH) services in various locations, one of which is in Semarang. Pedurungan Subdistrict in Semarang City is the research location due to its high total population, the potential increase for technology and communication infrastructure, and the use of unconventional components in FTTH structures in the region. This research aims to evaluate the effect of the worst fluctuation value on the feasibility of the fiber to the home network that has been provided by PT XL Axiata based on the amount of power link budget. The author obtained field data from PT XL Axiata, simulation data from simulating the network structure with Optisystem application, and power link budget calculation data manually. The analysis is done by comparing field measurement data, simulations, and power link budget calculations. The conclusion made from the results of the analysis is that all data meets the feasibility standards set by PT XL Axiata, with field data power link budget tends to be the best, followed by Optisystem simulation results, while theoretical calculations produce the worst power link budget value compared to the other two types of data. Although, there are some field data that exceed the error tolerance limit in the PT XL Axiata standard.
