Abstract

Malnutrition can lead to poor health status, decreased immunity, and life-threatening organ damage. The prevalence rate of people suffering from tuberculosis (TB) with malnutrition reaches around 60% or 3 out of 5 people. This study aims to determine the relationship between tuberculosis (TB) and the incidence of malnutrition in DK Jakarta in 2022. This study used a cross-sectional study design with secondary data, namely the National Tuberculosis Information System (SITB) with the domicile area of DK Jakarta. Data were analyzed univariately, spatially, bivariately and multivariately. Among 123,731 people, the prevalence of malnutrition among tuberculosis (TB) positive patients in Indonesia was 21,163 (51.1%) people. Multivariate analysis found that tuberculosis (TB) (aPOR=4,790; 95% CI: 4,666-4,918) had a significant association with the incidence of malnutrition in the rest of Jakarta. This study found that tuberculosis (TB) is a variable that affects the incidence of malnutrition in DK Jakarta in 2022. It is recommended for policy makers to integrate more complete data and be able to identify and deal with malnutrition problems early and avoid the risk of both diseases occurring simultaneously.
