Abstract

Kelor dikenal dengan berbagai nama, seperti Tree for Life, Moringa is nicknamed by various names, such as Tree for Life, The Miracle tree, and Amazing Tree because all parts of the plant can be widely used for life and as a medicinal plant. A medicinal substance, whether derived from natural or chemicalbased ingredients, must go through several stages of testing, including an acute toxicity test. Acute toxicity tests can be carried out using the method Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) which utilizes larvae Artemia salina 48 hours old as an experimental object. The 50% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves tested was obtained through ultrasonic extraction with three frequency variations and then made into four concentrations of test solutions namely 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 500 ppm, and 1000 ppm. Results of acute toxicity test of Moringa leaf ethanol extract against larvae Artemia salina expressed by the LC50 value. LC50 value 50% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves, ultrasonic wave frequencies of 30 kHz, 40 kHz, and 50 kHz were 554.94 ± 46 ppm, 476.55 ± 9.5 ppm, and 671.67 ± 59 ppm, respectively. The three extracts fall into the toxic category based on Meyer's toxicity classification. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that there was an influence of variations in extraction frequency on the LC value50 and there is a relationship between values Total Phenolic Content (TPC) dan Total Flavonoid Content (TFC) to the LC50 value
