Abstract

This study seeks to investigate the legal safeguards available to consumers who incur financial losses while subscribing to postpaid provider cards. Additionally, it explores the obligations of business entities or providers acting as telecommunication service providers. This study employs normative juridical methodologies, utilising law-based procedures and case-based approaches, drawing from primary and secondary legal sources. According to the research findings, the legal safeguard for consumers using postpaid cards is outlined in Article 4 of Law Number 8 of 1999, which pertains to consumer rights. The primary emphasis of the study conducted by the author is on the right to information. In addition, customers who are dissatisfied have the option to lodge a complaint with either the Non-Governmental Consumer Protection Agency (LPKSM) or the Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency (BPSK). As for the responsibility of the telecommunications company as a provider, it is to provide compensation or compensation for losses in the form of a reduction in the value of the bill in the following month.
