Abstract

The Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh, resulting from the mass exodus due to ethnic conflict in Myanmar, is one of the world's largest humanitarian challenges today. More than half of the nearly 1 million refugees living in overcrowded camps are children, who face high risks of infectious diseases and violence. International organizations, such as UNICEF, play a crucial role in providing humanitarian assistance, including material and technical aid, to meet their urgent needs. International organization theory describes how UNICEF, as a multilateral actor, coordinates cross-border humanitarian responses to protect and support Rohingya refugees. The methodology used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method utilizing secondary data. Data collection techniques involve literature study. The final results of this research show that the aid provided by UNICEF includes foreign aid or humanitarian assistance, divided into two forms: material aid and technical aid. The "UNICEF’s Humanitarian Action for Children in Bangladesh: Rohingya Influx" program demonstrates UNICEF's dedication to health and education sectors, presenting a holistic response to the complex challenges on the ground. Related studies on the role of UNICEF and other international organizations in addressing the refugee crisis provide insights into strategies, coordination, and sustainability in delivering effective humanitarian aid. This also illustrates the importance of the role of international organizations in addressing the long-term impact of the refugee crisis on both local communities and the refugees themselves, focusing on recovery and sustainable future development.
