Abstract

A form of hypertension that occurs during pregnancy called preeclampsia causes mother and baby death in about 5.3% of cases. Therefore, research on drug problems (DRPs) is certain. The choice of medications and dosages plays a significant role in weighing the advantages and hazards for the mother and fetus. In 2022, the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital Inpatient Installation conducted this study to determine the prevalence of drug-related issues among patients with preeclampsia. Based on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Guidelines: Diagnosis and Treatment of Preeclampsia, this observational study used medical records that were retrospectively obtained and thoroughly examined. At the Gatot Soeboroto Army Hospital Inpatient Installation in 2022, preeclampsia patients served as the research subjects. Inaccurate drug selection was found in 25 cases (60.98%), high doses in 2 cases (4.88%), and low doses in 1 case (2.44%) of the 41 patients who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It should be noted that the administration of this medication in an emergency situation requires caution and vigilance, since it might have harmful effects on expectant mothers.
