Abstract
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is defined as an abnormality in the structure or function of the kidney that lasts at least three months and has health consequences. Patients with CKD often receive polypharmacy to treat conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, bone disease, cardiovascular disease, and other conditions. A large number of drugs increases the risk of drug interactions. Drug interactions could cause various problems, such as reduced therapeutic efficacy of drugs, increased toxicity, or negative pharmacological effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of potential drug interactions in patients with GGK hospitalised in 2023 at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. This study is an observational study with a cross-sectional design and retrospective. Patient data collection and data presentation through descriptive analysis. Drug interaction tools used in this study were Medscape and Drugs.com. The most common drug interactions were drug interactions with pharmacodynamic mechanisms (53.21%) and drug interactions of moderate severity (86.6%). The most potential drug interaction was the drug interaction between omeprazole and vitamin B12. There was an association between the number of drugs and the number of drug interactions with a p value of 0.000 (p<0.005).
