Abstract
One socioeconomic issue that frequently arises in emerging nations among them, Indonesia urbanization. Regional disparities in development and demographic disparity caused by urbanization. Despite being the fourth most populous province in Indonesia, North Sumatra remains unevenly or disproportionately city biased in its growth. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how North Sumatra urbanization rates are impacted by economic variables that are associated with population quality of life proxies. Indicators of region's level of economic development is urbanization. The purpose of the study was to determine how North Sumatra urbanization rates were impacted variables per capita income, city minimum wage, and labor force participation rate. Period 2018-2022 and 29 Regencies in the North Sumatra were the subject of the study, which is 145 observations. In this study, Time Series and Cross Section data are combined for analyzed panel data regression approach and generated by Stata 17 Software. The findings of this study regression analysis indicate that while the variables Per Capita Income and Force Participation Level have no discernible impact on urbanization rates, the City Minimum Wage variable has a considerable impact on these rates.
