Abstract
Electricity is crucial for commercial and industrial buildings with high energy demands. As population, economic, and quality of life improve, energy consumption in buildings significantly increases. To ensure safety and operational efficiency, good regulatory standards for electrical and lighting installations are essential. This study aims to analyze the feasibility and compliance of the electrical and lighting systems in the Faculty of Engineering building at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta with the General Requirements for Electrical Installations (PUIL) 2011 and the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 03-6575-2001. The research methods employed include literature review, observation, interviews, direct measurements, design simulations, and data analysis. Based on the findings, the electrical system, according to PUIL 2011, exhibits discrepancies such as 55.10% of cables not meeting color standards, 5.56% not meeting size standards, 92.36% of circuit breakers not meeting load capacity standards, 40% of circuit breakers failing short-circuit current specifications, and the voltage drop is still within the limits allowed by the standard, which is a maximum of 5% for low voltage systems (230/400 V). Adjustments to these standards are necessary to mitigate the risks of electrical disturbances and accidents. Regarding the lighting system, based on SNI 03-6575-2001, approximately 79.41% of rooms do not meet light intensity standards, 85.29% do not comply after simulation processes, and 91.18% fail to meet standards for the number and luminosity of lamps. Improvements in distribution, quantity, types, and lamp specifications are required to achieve optimal and efficient lighting according to standards.
