Abstract
In the era of globalization, rapid technological advances have encouraged the use of digital-based systems in various daily activities, including in the field of education. Education is an important basis for improving the quality of human resources, and providing supporting facilities is one effort to improve this quality. One effective way to support student development is by holding academic and non-academic competition events, which help them recognize their potential and skills. However, students often experience difficulty in determining supervisors who suit their competition interests, because information about lecturers is often not informative enough. The system for determining supervisors at the Faculty of Computer Science, UPN Veteran Jakarta, currently still uses conventional methods which require the assistance of the head of the study program, so the process takes a lot of time and is not practical for students. This research aims to design a website-based competition guidance system using the waterfall method, which includes stages from needs analysis to testing using Black Box Testing. With this system, it is hoped that it will make it easier for students to apply for competition guidance, minimize errors in selecting supervisors, and make it easier for admins to archive student competition data. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide benefits for researchers, universities and students, as well as become a reference for further research and development of website applications.
