Abstract

Blindness is the condition of lacking visual perception or disabilities in their vision. This has an impact on motor function which causes difficulties in carrying out activities independently, socializing with the surrounding environment, and accessing information so blind people need help from others or mobility aid as a tool to assist them. This research aims to create a mobile application using the YOLOv7-tiny model which can detect road obstruction objects in the form of poles and holes in real-time as a walking aid for the blind. The stages in creating the application are collecting a dataset of objects, building a model, creating an application using the React Native framework, and testing the application using Blackbox and direct testing. Based on research, the application is functioning well in detecting objects in real time.
