Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is the inability of the pancreas to produce enough insulin or the inability of the body to use insulin efficiently. A decrease in the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas leads to hyperglycemia, an increase in the concentration of glucose in the blood caused by insulin, a hormone that produces blood sugar levels. If diabetes mellitus is not managed properly, there are several risks that threaten diabetics. One of them is diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy is a complication that attacks the sensory nerves in the extremities and manifests as a tingling sensation in the foot area that is irreversible. Objective: To get an overview of nursing care in diabetes mellitus clients with acute pain disorders due to microvascular complications in the carnation room of South Tangerang General Hospital which is carried out using nursing care including assessment, nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation Methods: This study uses case study research, case studies are qualitative research conducted on scientific objects, data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation study. Results: Nursing problems in cases there are three diagnoses that have been raised, including acute pain associated with physiological injuring agents, instability of blood glucose levels associated with insulin retention, risk of falling associated with neuropathy.
