Abstract

Objective Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) is one of the leading causes of maternal deaths in Indonesia. Diagnosis of Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) can be done with anamnesies, physical examinations, and laboratory examinations. The test is based on the litmus test, however other tests can also be used to diagnose early rupture with the IGFBP-1 test offer improved diagnostic specificity. This study aims to look at the diagnostic value of the IGFBP-1 test against the litmus test for Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) diagnosis. Methodology This study employed an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design using diagnostic testing that compares the IGFBP-1 test as diagnostic tools for Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM). Total sample consists of 42 pregnant womens who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed with a 2x2 diagnostic table. Results The diagnostic test results of the IGFBP-1 test indicated a sensitivity of 82%, specificity of 73%, positive predictive value of 79%, negative predictive value of 77%, positive probability ratio of 3,03, negative probability ratio of 0,24, and diagnostic accuracy of 78%. Conclusion The IGFBP-1 test has good diagnostic values, so it can be used to diagnose early Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM).
