Abstract
Admission of new students is one of the processes in every school to screen prospective students who are selected according to the criteria determined by the school. In general, theprocess of accepting new students is carried out through the registration stages, taking several tests, and announcing the results of the student admission selection. Al-Akhyar II Jakarta Vocational School is a vocational high school in East Jakarta. In its implementation, the activities for admitting new students and selecting new students arestill carried out manually or computerized but using Microsoft Excel, which can cause several problems, such as lost or damaged forms and admins entering the wrong data for prospective new students. Therefore, an information system is needed that can help the process of accepting new students. By designing a website-based registration and selection system for new students, it is hoped that it can help simplify the process of admitting new students, such as processing data, conveying information quickly and precisely, and managing the announcement of selection results quickly. The method used is the RAD method. The design of the new student registration and selection system is built using the PHP programming language and utilizes the MySQL database as the database server. The result of this research is the design of a web-based new student registration and selection system that has the ability to provide accurate data and make it easy for parents and prospective new students to obtain information about the school.
