Abstract

This research began when researchers saw a phenomenon related to the understanding of "college" from the perspective of each student who was or had graduated from college. This research aims to obtain information from informants regarding their views on 'college', whether it is interpreted as an investment or a expenses. This research uses qualitative methods and the approach used is descriptive qualitative. There are several research instruments to support extracting information from informants. Data processing techniques using noema, bracketing (epoche), noesis, intentional analysis, and eidetic reduction. Researchers obtained data by conducting interviews with informants. There were ten (10) informants with different educational backgrounds and campuses. The results of this research are first, the informants believe that college is an investment because of the sacrifices made both materially and non-materially. Second, factors that arise, including economic, environmental, self and parent factors, also influence study. Third, improving your quality on campus needs to be done so that your future career can be brilliant.
